Afterwards, they introduced useful Japanese phrases and expressions to the guests. It was a meaningful time of mutual learning, where everyone gained insights into each other&#8217;s cultures and languages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Our guests were Prince, a student from the Philippines who arrived in Japan this September, and Julie, a student from Germany who has been here since March.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>English Club members asked many questions and learned about the students&#8217; countries, school systems, and personal experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>\ud83d\udcac<\/strong><strong> Voices from the International Students (Highlights)<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What surprised you about Japan?<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Prince: \u201cYou can eat raw fish!\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Julie: \u201cEveryone is so polite.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>About schools in your home country:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Prince: \u201cWe study from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Julie: \u201cEach student chooses their own classes, so schedules vary from person to person.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Things you want to try in Japan:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Prince: \u201cI want to try snowboarding.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Julie: \u201cI\u2019d love to experience a hot spring.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Challenges you\u2019ve faced in Japan:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>Prince: \u201cNothing in particular so far.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Julie: \u201cThe way people express themselves is different. In Germany, we clearly say both good and bad things, but in Japan, people tend not to express negative opinions.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Through this exchange, English Club members not only practiced language skills but also deepened their understanding of different cultures, customs, and ways of thinking.
