On Thursday, June 6, second-year students from the International Studies Course visited Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Nagoya.

First, they learned about JICA’s work and projects around the world. Then, they listened to a talk by a former Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteer, who shared personal stories and experiences from their time working abroad. After that, the students explored the interactive exhibition area, where they could learn about global issues — such as population, poverty, and the environment — through photos, videos, and real-life displays. They also discovered how these global problems are connected to the Chubu region.

Some students became more interested in JICA’s activities and even started thinking about working in international cooperation as a future career. This visit helped students deepen their understanding of both global issues and other cultures. We hope it will also inspire them to keep learning English with more motivation.
