Despite the ongoing extreme heat, we held our annual “Junior High School Information Sessions” over two days—Wednesday, August 20 and Thursday, August 21. This year, we welcomed approximately 900 junior high school students and 400 parents visiting our school, Bihoku.
In the first part of the event, volunteer students from Bihoku gave presentations using PowerPoint to explain the unique features of both the General Course and the International Liberal Arts Course. Attendees also got a glimpse of our school events and club activities, as well as our language training program in Hawaii and the student exchange program with Kalani High School in Hawaii, which began last year. Students who had participated in these overseas programs shared their experiences.

In the second part, we held mock English lessons for the International Liberal Arts Course. Over the two days, we used six classrooms in total, where ALT teacher Richard and students from the International Course led various English activities and games, which the junior high students enjoyed.

Every year, we’re impressed by how much junior high students’ speaking abilities have improved. To all the students who participated over these two days—we look forward to seeing you again at Bihoku! And to all the parents, thank you very much for coming despite the heat.
Finally, a big thank you to all the Bihoku students who helped out—you did a great job!
