International Course NEWS No.76 Tokai Hokuriku Prefectures’ Senior High School English Speech Contest

On Sunday, November 23, the Tokai-Hokuriku Block English Speech Contest was held at the Gifu Prefectural Library. Fourteen students, the first- and second-place winners from the prefectural contests of the seven Tokai-Hokuriku prefectures (Aichi, Gifu, Mie, Fukui, Toyama, Ishikawa, and Shizuoka), gathered to deliver outstanding speeches. From our school, Ms. Sensoy Ebrar, a first-year student in the International Course, participated as the second-place winner of the Aichi Prefectural Contest.

Each representative gave an excellent speech, confidently expressing their opinions in English. However, considering that Aichi has the largest number of high schools in the block—seven times more than the prefecture with the fewest—it was once again clear how difficult it is to win the Aichi Prefectural Contest. This was reflected in the high quality of the speeches delivered by the Aichi representatives.

In the end, Ms. Ebrar achieved a brilliant victory! After a long journey, she will now advance to the national finals, which will be held at the National Olympics Memorial Youth Center, Main Hall in Yoyogi, Tokyo. This marks the second time that Bihoku High School has reached the national stage. We hope she will prepare thoroughly and rise to the challenge of this final stage.
