April 26th, 2023
The first event in April for the International Course is a joint orientation for all three grades. The 2nd and 3rd year seniors began preparations in March of last year, thinking of presentations, introducing events and games that can be enjoyed beyond the boundaries of their grade level. This year, a new game called “Lirio Tree” (Liriodendron) was introduced, named after the Lirio tree that symbolizes “Bihoku”. This is like musical chairs combined with the game “find someone who”, where students swap seats with people who match a description.
Another game, called “HOTSEAT”, has one student seated, facing away from the screen. Words appear on the screen and the seniors in their team work hard to give hints in English so the hotseat student can guess the word. It is timed, frantic and fun! Additionally, the speeches of the third-year students who advanced to the prefectural competition last year and the speeches of the second-year students who placed second in the prefectural competition served as good role models for the first-year students. After seeing presentations on the second-year students’ visit to Bangkok and the third-year students’ report on their study abroad in Canada, the first-year students were all looking forward to their high-school lives. All the first year students! Let’s work together to make the International course more exciting in Bihoku! !
