International Course NEWS No. 74  “University visit” Nanzan University

On Friday, November 7, second-year students from the International Liberal Arts Department participated in a field trip to Nanzan University, where they attended a special lecture and took a campus tour.

Special Lecture

For the special lecture, students attended a session titled “Doing Things with Words” led by Dr. Alfred Rue Burch, Associate Professor from the Faculty of Global Liberal Studies.

The lecture was conducted entirely in English. Students actively participated by exchanging opinions with classmates in response to the professor’s questions.This provided a thought-provoking opportunity to consider the nature of communication using words, making it a highly engaging experience for the students.

Introduction to student life by Nanzan Students

During the student life introduction, four current university students spoke about their campus life. They shared their reasons for choosing their respective majors and shard practical advice based on their experience regarding what high school students can do to prepare for university.

Campus Tour

The students listened intently during the campus tour, the students saw facilities where students actually attend lectures and visited the Anthropology Museum.

They then stopped at Stella lounge where they could interact with international students in various languages, clearly demonstrating the university’s strong focus on international exchange.
