Since April, Alessandro from Rome, Italy, has joined Bihoku High School. He studied Japanese for six years in Italy and fulfilled his dream of coming to Japan to continue his studies.
One of the things he was most excited about was experiencing after-school club activities. This is a unique part of Japanese school culture that is rarely seen overseas. He finds it fascinating that clubs create a social space where students can connect with one another. Alessandro even says that this culture should be adopted in other countries as well.
He is currently a member of the English Club and the Tea and Flower Arrangement Club, enjoying a fulfilling school life every day. His Japanese has improved rapidly, and he has made many friends. His next goal is to take the JLPT 2nd Grade exam.
There are countless things he loves about Japan, especially:
- Trains arriving on time
- Being able to travel safely by train even at night
- The incredibly delicious food
He says these are some of the charms unique to Japan.
In the future, Alessandro hopes to return to Japan and study at a Japanese university. His strengths are mathematics and physics, and his dream is to become a math teacher in Japan someday.
